Size: 44" x 56"

This ghan was made with squares donated by Donna Dickinson. They were assembled in soft white using the join-as-you-go for granny squares and finished with a simple border of [(sc, ch 2, sc) in same stitch, skip 2 stitches]. In corners I worked (sc, ch 2, sc, ch 2, sc) in the center stitch.  This ghan went to Brenda.

Size: 55" x 65"

Basic granny squares made by various S4S members, most by CarolH. This went to the Hites.

Method:
1)
All the squares were granny squares made by different people. Some had 9 rounds, some had 10, some had 11, and a couple even had 12. A few of the squares needed to be resized but most were fine.

2) sc equal number of stitches on each side of each square. I decided on 38 as my magic number (not including corners).

3) join with a whipstitch into 5-square columns.

4)
put a second sc border around each column and join those with a whipstitch.

5) put
a border around the whole thing. I went with a (sc, ch 2, sc) in every third stitch to give it a little bit of a fancier edging. In corners I used (sc, ch 2, sc, ch 2, sc).

6) weave in all the tails

That completed the afghan. Then I washed it in Woolite on gentle wash cycle, dried it in the dryer on low to medium heat, packed it up and mailed it with delivery confirmation
