Afghan size approx 48" x 72" before joining and border.

These are some squares made using the pattern square #96 in ASN's 101 Crochet Squares by Jean Leinhauser. Great book! Many useful square patterns. These squares, which I call snowflake squares, are about 8" using an H hook. Pictures were taken before squares were joined together into afghan.

Note: With 1 skein, you can make either 17 centers or 17 outer borders. I figure one center to be about 27 yards if you want to see if you have enough of a color to do it. I am not responsible if it doesn't work!

20 squares about 9" square, joined with the continuous JAYG

Mary Maxim Best Value (red, green, and white)
Red Heart Super Saver (gold, blue).

44" x 56"

Sarahghan to Project Rest Assured for Sarah  (teen girl)
in memory of Janet
This ghan is made in shell strips.

pattern basics:
Ch 16, 2 dc in 4th ch from hk, (sk 2, shell) across,
H hook, 101 rows
7 strips trimmed in black
border is a round of sc followed by (sc, ch 3, sk 1)
about 4 1/2 ounces per strip

42" x 53"

The ghan used 7 strips of various widths, worked in seed stitch as per the Scrap Strip Afghan but with 201 rows. It was joined and bordered in soft burgundy, taking less than 8 ozs. There is no rhyme or reason to the colors used. I just worked with a ball of leftover yarn until it was done or I was tired of that color. This ghan went to Project Rest Assured for a teen girl.

I used a four round border. First round was sc, second 2dc shells, then two rounds of (sc, ch 4) around.
.

This afghan was made using the same basic shell pattern as my Christmas Strip Afghan with some variation in size

48" x 64"

This double strand afghan is also the Peekaboo pattern. It is made with one strand each of Caron Sayelle taupe and dk federal blue. The individual colors stand out better in this one than in Sonya's Peekaboo.  I used the pink hook that came with my breast cancer kit. I think it's a P. The afghan is quite heavy and very warm even with the holes made by the pattern.

Some of the double yo-yos in this afghan were mine (pink, purple, turquoise I think), assembly by Jana for Crafting for a Cause

Some of these were mine - assembly by Dawn
