55" x 64"

This was a wedding gift for our friends, the Gotts.
Pattern used is Vanna's Choice in Vanna's Afghans A to Z
I made a few changes. This afghan is worked in both loops, with an L hook and Lion Brand Jiffy fisherman yarn. I used the "baby" size pattern, but I skipped 1 stitch not two on the mesh bands. I ended up with 10 mesh bands, and 12 dc sections.

I also added a border. I used a round of sc and then a sideways shell [(sc, ch 2, 2 dc) in one stitch, then sk 2 and repeat].

I used 15 skeins though didn't finish the last one.

I Love This Yarn (Hobby Lobby), 11 round red and white granny squares, bordered in blue and joined with whipstitch

Tara's Afghan

This Beginner's Luck afghan was done as a graduation gift for Tara. It is the Beginner's Luck pattern, from a Brunswick leaflet #768 "Knit and Crochet Afghans". My copy is c1990. I've seen it on some sites as c1978.

55" x 57"

Vanna's Choice yarn. 5 round granny squares, each 8 patch was joined with the continuous join-as-you-go, then bordered in black and joined. A border in black was added. I may still add another round of border in one of the coordinating colors, but wanted to put the photo up here while I had one.

These afghans were made for Paul and John, sons of a friend who was a great help to me during my pregnancy for Ben, when I was bedridden. Joann brought Kate to preschool and returned her to me afterwards, which was quite a bit out of her way. Thanks, Joann!

Barbara's afghan

This is the Beginner's Luck pattern, from a Brunswick leaflet #768 "Knit and Crochet Afghans". My copy is c1990. I've seen it on sale as c1978.

I worked the pattern stitches around for a border, which was not part of the original pattern.

This afghan was made for Jeanne, Joann's daughter.

This is the shawl I made for my daughter to wear at her wedding. The pattern was at Michael's web site and is Patons Silverlash Beautiful Crochet Shawl
It's a very simple pattern, quick to work up. Basically it's just (dc, ch 1, sk 1), a filet pattern with an even chain. As always, I made changes. I used a bit longer foundation and put a picot border which really dresses it up IMHO. I used Bernat Baby Coordinates which gave it a nice sheen and matched the dress color.

Wanda's afghan

This afghan, worked in claret and soft white, is Painted Desert Quick and Cozy Afghans. I used a K hook and bought three 8-oz. skeins Red Heart Super Saver yarn of each color.

This afghan, worked in the diagonal box stitch, went to my friend, Tami.

Lisa's afghan

This white afghan was made using the pattern Lacy Shells in Quick and Cozy Afghans by Leisure Arts. The pattern calls for an N hook, but I think I used a J.

Yolanda's afghan

This afghan was worked in Caron black yarn using the pattern Graceful Trellis in Afghans on the Double. I used a single strand, however, and a J hook. I did not find the piece wide enough, so I then worked two side pcs to be added to the main piece. :-) I was quite pleased with the results. As I get older, I have a hard time with the color black, but this more open weave pattern was not difficult. It took about 40 ozs yarn.

This one went to Jamie. It's worked with two strands, in a pattern I designed called the
Double Strand X-
Stitch. It's very thick and warm.

This ghan went to my friend Diane Johns (1995). It's a pattern called Blue on Blue from Afghans magazine (Harris Publications, Winter 1983). The original pattern used shades of blue. This one took about 42 ozs worsted weight yarn and an I hook. I've done several of these in various color schemes.

Sonya's afghan

Here are two closeups pics. Pattern is my Peekaboo afghan and uses a combination of one strand baby peach and one strand natural worsted weight yarn. If you look at it from far away it looks peach, but if you look closely, you can see the entwined strands.
