Crochet Lace Fingerless Mittens
|

This is a purse (or bag) made with bulky yarn.
I did this June 2010 and I don't recall the pattern or yarn used, but I
think it might be the
Summer Market Bag at Ravelry. At least it is very similar to it. This
was a spur of the moment project (needed a bag for something or other) and I
don't find a blog post on it.
The bottom is made in one piece, in the
round, working on opposite side of the chain. Most of the side rows are dc,
ch 1, sk 1. The strap is made separately and is attached in the center of
each side of the purse. Check out the Ravelry pattern. Whether I used that
one or not, it is so close in design that I think the finished project would
look like this.

I made these squares which

clever? For Lil'Troopers.

Pillowcase made for my
nephew Mark (11/2007), to match an afghan made by my sister, who passed away
in 1990. My first pillowcase and I was really pleased with the result.

The above pillowcase was made for Mark's
fiancée in 2011 as a wedding gift so she could have one also. The colors are
slightly different as I didn't have the first one to match and had not noted
down the yarn colors when I made it. Size is about 22 1/2" x 37 1/2" lying
flat, large enough for a king size pillow. I recommend using yarn colors
that are similar is thickness. All worsted weight yarns are not created
equal, even from the same manufacturer. It may not make much of a difference
to the casual viewer, but as a crocheter you would note the difference.

Here are two lighthouses I
made as part of an assignment for my CYCA certification. The pattern is from
Lee
Mathewson's site, used with permission for my project.

This burial pocket is made
with two granny squares sewn together in diamond shape. The second is just
folded over. You could weave ribbon through or decorate in some fashion if
you wanted to as well. I used baby Lion Brand Pound of Love.

This is a poncho that I made as part of
the requirements for the CYCA Certified Instructor Program. It uses two
strands, a P hook, and basic stitches. Works up really quick. You can find
the pattern at the
CYCA site. |

This toilet tissue holder
is just dc in the round like making a hat, with a little pom pom on top. The
second one was adjusted in height, has a rolled up brim with a picot edging.

I recently came across this pictures of
a clown crayon holder I made years ago. I'd like to make some more
clowns but have been unable to find the rubber clown faces.

Here is a picture of a Christmas tree wall hanging. Years ago
I made some of these and in 2004 I decided to make some as gifts. I used
brown to represent the tree trunk. Those are picot stitches around the sides
and a plastic ring for the hanger. This is not my pattern - I made my own
version after seeing one at a friend's house. |

Pattern is the
Butterfly Fridgie
The instructions call for a yarn body but the picture shows a
chenille stem, which is what I use.
The
one on the left is made with
Red Heart variegated yarn called Bikini and a white chenille stem. I find
the yellow (as in the center group picture) and the bright pink do well with
this yarn. The one on the right was made
by my daughter in Red Heart yarn, one of the blue shades but not sure which
one. She used a sparkly stem.
These are fun to make and quite easy.
With an H hook, I can get 13 butterflies from an 8 oz. skein of Red Heart
yarn.

Here are a few of the cute little pumpkins
I made using the pattern "Pumpkin Fridgie" at
http://www.crochetnmore.com/pumpkinfridgie.htm
I didn't add the face since I didn't want the Jack o' lantern look, but did
add a leaf using a different pattern :-(
