PICOT STITCH

Rule

Picot Stitch


 

A picot is essentially a loop made with chain stitches which gives a decorate edge to your piece, it can be made with any number of chains but the most common is ch-3

chain 3

 slip stitch in 3rd chain from hook.

That's all there is to it. You've just completed a picot. :-) Doesn't look like much until you continue with your pattern.

Here's an example of one way to use the picot - from a Christmas wall hanging I made.
